CONTEXT

Our clients are jointly setting a new company in Abidjan, Cote d'Ivoire, to build a mobile money payment interoperability scheme in Africa. This scheme will rely on a technical platform that will facilitate interoperable payments and transfer between mobile money accounts from different mobile money operators (Orange, MTN, others). We are now starting to build up the finance team that will manage this platform and its evolution, as well as support operators that will use it – the customers of that new company. This team is to be transferred to the new one as soon as it is set up. This position is located in Abidjan.

MISSION

As part of the scheme rules and technical support team, you will ensure that participant members of Casablanca understand the technical and compliance requirements to participate in the scheme. This is done through providing application support (integration, product development), technical support, and compliance support (through a thorough understanding of the scheme rules) to its participants.

Casablanca is the Mobile Money interoperability platform based on the Mojaloop open source software.

RESPONSABILITIES

In your role as scheme rules participant onboarding, you will work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team to:

  • Manage system integration of new participants (installation, configuration, and supervision)
  • Explanation of technical integration to participants
  • Explanation of new compliance requirements (and scheme rules) to participants, and:
    • The technical impact thereof
    • The business impact thereof
    • The compliance impact thereof
  • Provide in depth analysis to problems as well as intermediate between product engineering team and third party technical support teams.
  • Manage client activities and authorizations on the hub as well as respond to client technical requests and inquiries
  • Develop and maintain product documentation including system/service user guides, platform operation document, problem resolution documentation etc.
  • Ensure daily report generation and distribution to relevant teams
  • Train new resources 
Description du profil du candidat :

Should hold a Master’s degree holder (Bac +5) from an engineering school or university equivalent with at least four (4) years significant industry experience in software development, application support, product integration and deployment preferably in the Mobile VAS domains.  The candidate is required to have a thorough understanding of compliance concepts and the impact on technical platforms.

 

The preferred candidate will possess the following skills/qualities:

  • Team spirit, effective communication, and ability to work multicultural work environments
  • Autonomous and entrepreneurial
  • Skilled agile software developer with strong knowledge of Java, Perl, shell scripting etc.
  • Basic knowledge of the world of Mobile Financial Services and Finance
  • Fluency in English and ability to communicate in French (intermediate level or higher)
  • Ability to travel internationally
  • Ability to work flexible hours as needed
