On June 12 and 13, 2025, Abidjan hosted a new edition of the “HR Meetings”, organized by the AfricSearch firm. This event takes place in a context marked by strong demographic growth in Africa, which is expected to represent more than a third of the global working population by 2030. Faced with this challenge, the participants – experts, decision-makers and HR professionals – discussed the strategies to adopt to improve the development of human capital on the continent.
Discussions focused on the imbalances between the growth of the active population and the capacity of the labor market to create quality jobs, as well as ways to accelerate the structural transformation of employment systems. Concrete ideas were shared around training, skills mobility and the professionalization of courses.

At the same time, the AfricTalents forum was held on June 13 at the Sofitel Abidjan Hôtel Ivoire. This event, also supported by AfricSearch, aims to connect companies looking for high-level skills with qualified talent. For Didier Acouetey, president of the group, “It’s a space that is important, because human capital is the key. There is no development without quality human capital.”
The forum offered conferences, coaching workshops and targeted recruitment sessions. Among the 5,000 applications received via the online platform, only the pre-selected profiles were able to meet the recruiters directly. Thomas Capko, speaker at the forum, underlined the importance of positioning yourself as a differentiated talent: “At AfricTalents, you are in a market where sellers and buyers meet. Your talents are like a product, to sell a product, you need a label. At AfricTalents, we buy talent, we sell talent.”
Created in 1999 and first organized in Paris, AfricTalents returns to Abidjan after an interruption linked to the COVID-19 pandemic. It stands out as a key mechanism in reconciling supply and demand in a rapidly changing African labor market.
