Didier Acouetey (AfricSearch): “African youth needs icons and champions”

To honor Africans, whose exploits or innovations contribute to the progress of the Continent, the Bamako Forum Foundation has awarded Prizes. Here are the winners who all have backgrounds of excellence. “It’s Africa that’s changing,” underlines Didier Acouetey, the boss of AfricSearch, master of ceremonies for this awards ceremony.

Africa is full of young talents who want to change the face of the Continent and the Bamako Forum, organized by Abdoullah Coulibaly for more than twenty years, has long been aware of this. Hence the award ceremony to introduce all of Africa to some of these actors who will be the personalities of tomorrow.

And who better than a renowned “headhunter” to find them? This was the role assigned to Didier Acouetey ahead of the 21st edition of the Bamako Forum, of which this awards ceremony was to constitute one of the major novelties.

Founding president of AfricSearch, the first African recruitment firm for the Continent and its diaspora, Didier Acouetey perfectly accomplished the mission assigned to him as president of the Selection Committee. And from the inaugural session of the Forum, he will play the Master of Ceremonies to highlight and honor the first Prizes awarded this year to several young talents…

“The objective of these Awards is to celebrate Africans who achieve exploits, innovations, actions that transform Africa. We cannot despair of an Africa that is so young, courageous and innovative. There are extraordinary young people, who need icons and champions, here they are,” underlines Didier Acouetey. Before continuing: “There are people here who create wealth, provide African solutions. Africa needs them, but they do not need to resemble what is already done in Hollywood, London or Paris… Africa must remain itself. »

“May all these winners, with such different and complementary profiles, become ambassadors not only of the Bamako Forum, but of a new Africa,” he adds. We will thus create a “community” to contribute – thanks to this network – to the transformation of Africa.”

Didier Acouetay (Togo) wins, to his great surprise, the second Honorary Prize for the effective work he carries out at the head of AfricSearch, his company established in more than thirty countries and specializing in the search for new high-level human resources to ensure the best possible development of the Continent. “It’s the sprinkler watered! », concludes with humor the master of ceremonies.
